My Tom Tom could do with a map update - Ive got all the cables but have a couple of questions:
1) is it easy and safe to do?
2) Do I have to pay for it ?

Many thanks

    Download TOMTOM home
    HERE

Install it and plug in your TOMTOM. Home should automatically start and let you know what updates are available.

Depending on when you bought it and if you have ever connected it before you might be entitled to 1 free map upgrade (latest maps guarantee) its under the tools menu in TOMTOM home. otherwise you will have to pay for new maps

1 Google the tom tom web site
    2 Download Tom Tom home
3 Go to Maps a 510 I think just the UK which is about £40.00
Back up your Old Maps before you start to download is the safe way.
