Could anyone suggest a place to invest £10K for an indefinite period? Filled my £3k isa allowance and looking for a good home for the rest.

cheers

If you are talking investments then you have a £7200 ISA allowance. After that you would typically use unit trusts or investment trusts.

I was considering this option £7200 ISA.. £3200 cash rest as an investment.
But is the investment inshares etc a good option at the moment.
I have a European growth fund ISA and it has dropped 10.5% since October 97

Better than any point last year and future is unknown as it always is.

Thats not much at all. In 6 months you lost 10.5% but how much did it make over the 5 years previous? Doubled? You take the ups and downs and average them out.

If you dont have the risk profile to handle a small 10% loss then you should alter your investments to use a lower risk spread.

You have an ISA allowance of £7200, up to £3600 of which can be in cash. The rest must be invested in stocks and shares.

Many people buy funds to put in their S&S ISA from fund supermarkets like Hargreaves Lansdown, Fidelity or Cofunds. This way you can choose funds from different providers.

See this thread for some good information.
