Travel Insurance Travlling Through Heathrow T5

Good evening everyone,
I am heading away with work next month to USA. All good things come at a price as I have to travel out of Terminal 5.
My question is that on listening to the news today and phoning the two travel insurance companies that I use normally, I am being told that they will not pay out on any claim arising from missing / delayed baggage through T5 !!
Anyone got any advice or know of any companies worth trying ?
Thanks in advance

Buy 10 pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage .... stick the odd dress in and then let them lose them. Immediate refund of £10k (precedent set by Kate Moss over the weekend) ... despite them finding 8 of the pieces within an hour or so.
So you can forget the insurance, as regards T5 luggage? Just get the Insce for cancellation / illness etc ..... and rely on BA handouts for luggage.
Later
Just hear on the News that there are now 6 large Insce companies (and obviously growing) that are making 'T5 luggage losses' an exclusion on new policies. Advice seemed to be to rely on the international requirement that BA compensate for that element? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Thanks for your help guys,
Browntoa - Have checked the BA site and have been re-issued my e-tickets. I am flying out of T5 (to San Fran) and back into T4 (from Seattle)
Mikeyorks - Do you know if BA are therefore picking up the tab for lost luggage...i.e. they'll pay rather than the insurance company.

I'm in the same boat, wanting to buy some travel insurance for a trip using T5 in July.
I thought I'd found a good deal through moneysupermarket.co.uk with Columbus direct. £15 for 16 days to Canada.
I was all set to buy it, then I heard the reports of some insurers no longer covering travel through T5.
So i wrote to Columbus to check, their reply was:"Thank you for your recent email. If the baggage is lost or damaged by the airline, it is their responsibility to replace them. If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact us."I assume from that reply it means I wouldn't be covered!
Does anyone know any companies who still offer cover for T5. Or is it OK to rely on claiming from the airline, should the worst happen.0 -

Does your employer not have a travel policy? It is easy for insurers to apply exclusions to private individuals. The commercial insurance market tends to be more stable and the cover is often better.0 -

if you avoid royal bank of scotland insurers you should be ok - these are RBS, Churchill and direct line.if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.0
