East Midland Tickets with more extra charges

Hello , ive been a regular user of the Midland Mainline train service which has now been taken over by East Midlands, and yes the prices are higher now they have to get their money back for what the franchise costs.
Ive found that booking thro First Capital Connect the hidden charges can be avoided, so
no £1 ticket postage charge,
no 50p debit card charge or ticket machine charge
and no £2.50 credit card charge,

No charges also if booked through National Express trains.

What is annoying is that it is all the same web site, with a different front end.

Why do we keep being told the public like buying tickets like this?

I don't understand - when i go through east midlands trains i get no charge for using any type of card, or for collecting at a machine. And the prices are the same as on First Capital Connect....
