You need to read the warranty but in my experience, car manufacturers do carry a disclaimer that having a service done at a non dealership garage may void the warranty.0

I thought that recent european law changes (block exemption?) means that car manufacturers cannot tie you in to their servicing on the basis that anything else will invalidate the warranty. However, you must make sure that the garage doing the work do so to Suzuki's standards/procedures, and uses Suzuki parts. You should ask this when asking other garages for quotes, and if possible get it in writing.
Like Bossyboots suggests, check the wording on your warranty. Is it a 3yr manufacturers warranty? If so then great. The alternative is typically 1yr manufacturer + 2 yr dealer. In this case you may be tied to the dealer for servicing in order for them to honour the warranty. Very few manufacturers offer the full 3yr manufacturer's warranty, but another Japanese manufacturer, Toyota, do do this, so you may be okay with Suzuki.
You can always try beating your Suzuki dealer down on price using quotes from other garages.0 -
My RAC warranty states that 'as long as you get the vehicle serviced in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations' then it remains valid - i.e. if Susuki say every 12000 miles or 12 m then you must get it serviced at these intervals but not necessarily at a franchised dealership.
I still go to Ford with my car because they are wonderful people and have been so helpful when I had serious problems a few months ago. They're not actually that badly priced either and do free other bits too like a health check and a basic valet.

In all honesty I would go with the dealer anyway. An independent's hands are tied if he's going to go "by-the-book" with the service to retain the warranty, and the parts on relatively uncommon cars like Suzukis are often only sourced from the dealerships anyway, which means you'll only be saving a few shekels.
Suzuki dealers are usually pretty reasonable, family-run businesses anyway and they don't usually rip people off as can occasionally happen with the big manufacturers with fancy dealerships.0 -
You take the car to another garage and something goes wrong the garage is responsible for fixing the problem.
But after the warranty runs out from the repairs, the Suzuki dealer could void the warranty because the other repairs caused damage to the warranted parts!
And I’ve seen it happen at my fiat garage ford garage Alfa Romeo garage all because of other people’s repairs that damaged warranty parts.
Recommended oil and parts not been followed by manufactures guidelines, and thus damaging engine and other parts of car voiding the warranty.I'm not poor i'm just skint0
