AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
I cannot access your router from here, you need to click that link, and somewhere it should say something like connection speed, xxxxx downstream, xxxxx upstream, and the same for attenuation and snr, or noise. if you post your IP address i could have a go at looking from here, but you HONESTLY don't want that, so DON'T do it! Beginning to think 2mbs is wasted.....
what router is that, anyway? i don't recognise the IP, except cisco, which i find unlikelyUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -

I think your missing the key words here which are 'up to'
You can choose any provider you like but at the end of the day if you line can only support 2meg in speed then that's all your going to get no matter who you are with.
If you stick you details in here it will tell you what your line is capable of.

ok tommy, that's not looking good, with d/stream att of 21db i'd expect best part of a full sync, i get 8128 from 36db! i'm no expert, but either you are on a fixed speed product (288u/s) or you've been llued, the first looks most likely. The snr of 4.5 at 3pm is also very low, should be around (exactly) 6 at that time, plug your router directly to the test socket, which can be accessed by removing 2 screws and the faceplate from the BT master socket (dead easy) and report back with the new stats, quite possible that internal wiring (extension cable?) is causing issues, just snipping the bell wire may help, but we'll come back to that later.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

I reckon this is Orange's Home Starter plan.
You get up to 2 meg for £12/month or £7/month with an orange contract phone.0 -
With a snr of 4.5 consider yourself to be getting synched with the exchange.
Tony is right in saying about your bell wire as that caused me some major grief that I had to sort out cause the bt engineer was to dumb and blamed my adsl faceplate for the problems.
To have any hope of getting better speeds you need to get your snr up to a a much healthier margin.
If you have phone extensions for example or extra sockets coming of your main point in the house these can cause issues and slowdown.0 -
My phone line can support up to 8Mbps0

My phone line can support up to 8Mbps
Theoretically.
You're syncing at the speed you're paying for - 2mbit. Your line's set to 2mbit max, because that's the package you're on.
You say you're only getting 1.76mb/sec, but how did you come to this conclusion? It may be a problem between you and the server you tested the speed at.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
