West End Saturday Shopping Parking £8.50

For the next three saturdays, car park Masterpark (lots of central london car parks e.g. just behind John lewis) is offering £8.50 all day parking, providing you have a receipt which proves you spent more than £8.50 in a West End store.

Of course parking in the west end isn't ever moneysaving (and shopping there's a bit of a risk too :) ) however this is a very good offer if you're there more than two hours, its much cheaper than parking at a meter - and could save a good £20 for the day.

Even cheaper, shop on a Sunday and park on a single yellow line for free! I do it all the time. It feels funny to drive into the west end and park for free, and then go to work in a shop (John Lewis)!

Good grief, I'm struggling to get my head around the fact this is a bargain?

I moan when I have to pay £1.40 for 2 hours in Inverness.

The nuisance I find with pre-paid parking is having to sit in the car, even on a hot day, when I've returned from the shops to use up the hour I paid for.

Not that we go 'up to Town shopping, often - but their just doesn't seem to be as good a choice of stores, there once was.

So the likes of Bluewater, Meadow Hall - even Milton Keynes (they charge to park) are a more attractive proposition, I reckon!!

  • Call that cheap? If you head for Belgrave Square which is just below Hyde Park corner (so well near the tube, the end of Piccadilly and Buck Palace) parking is free on a Saturday and Sunday. This is a HUGE square full of Embassies and when I last parked there I had a choice of about 200 parking spaces.
