    Not sure what you mean by that Peggy.

    The way I see it, the Ombudsman has more 'teeth' than EnergyWatch.
    EnergyWatch can make a ruling, but there is nothing to say that the supplier has to follow it. The amount of customers complaining to Energywatch does not affect the customer financially (excluding costs for leaving/bad press_.

    The ombudsman can make rulings the supplier has to stick to. As each complaint is charged to the respective company they have a bigger incentice to resolve it before you approach the ombudsman; a company with many complaints will be hit in the pocket, and not subsidised by a company with hardly any complaints.

    I'm assuming that if EW don't manage to get BG to change their mind, I will be able to take things further though?

    Between us all we are sorting out the boundaries before EW ceases to exist. Personally, I think the new Ombudsman will be a nightmare. Anything that puts in capital letters "Final Decision", I feel is telling you it's final! Which is nonsense as the Final Decision is for a Court of Law (they get capitals, because they mean business!).

    I am looking forward to it with relish (ketchup!).

    There are a few related threads on here, but unfortunately, they can't be put together, so I will summarise when we get a resolution.

    Fundamentally, you are right. EW have stated so. If the precedent is set before the Ombudsman takes over, they grey bits disappear.

    Yours will be resolved in 14 days, EW will be here until end of September, so relax!
