Morning my fellow ex smoker :D

yeh, you're right was having a wobbly last night (sorry) but again you're right I woke up this morning feeling very positive & want to pass that vibe on to you.

It's a beautiful sunny day here & I'm gonna head out & about.

So sad to hear your tragic story - it's true what they say about someone always having a worse time than yourself & your sharing has snapped me out of self pity. I really dont know what to say other than my heart really does go out to you & what an amazing woman you are to have endured that & still be here & fighting now :A.

Well done for throwing out all the smoking paraphernalia & I really felt great after washing all clothing, bedding & curtains etc. The whole place smells so fresh now its great.

dunno about you, but I'm not only gonna save on cigs but all the equipment i used to cover it up too such as febreze, air fresheners mints etc.....

I also spend time with the rellies as am the only smoker among them & as i've never done it around them (too scared of lectures) i never even think about it. The hard part was always coming home where i could become a smoker again but now take steps to plan ahead for this with other treats.

You really have taken more than enough crap from your dad & if you ever get tempted by fags try to keep in your head that whatever he's done to you in the past, he's not gonna win this battle.

Negative smoking associations can be helpful :D.

Thanks for your support & Im here for you too

    (((( huge hugs ))))

    enjoy your day

    Hiya all
Well just did a little online calculation of my account this month and .... good news.... should have about 800 left to throw to my loan - with 600 in savings i should be able to pay 1.5k of it this month :j :j

What a brilliant start i just hope that i havent forgotten some pretty important bill like my mortgage :rotfl: and realise when its gone off the loan and there is no way back!!

I spent last night ebaying and put all my sons smaller clothes up (did think about putting my son for sale but decided no one would buy him anyways) and hopefully should get about £80 on them judging by previous bundles i have sold. Also stuck up some of his toys he doesnt use anymore and some other bits and pieces. Hopefully this time next week i will have about £100 in paypal to use as well yay!!! I know for a fact if i had of bin smoking last night i would have been to lazy to list all that stuff on ebay cos it took about 3 hours and i would have thought ah sod it no energy, so at least something positive has happened already from not smoking :T
  • Fingers crossed you get a good price for the ebay stuff and congrats on stopping smoking. £1.5k is a brill amount to be able to throw at debts.

    Hiya hon,

Great news about the smoking & ebaying :D . you're so right about smoking making a girl lazy. Had a good day yesterday - sunny & warm so i went to the allotment i share with friends - havent been for months due to being a misery :o - & dug & weeded for 3 hours. Felt so full of energy & optimism & to celebrate then went to pub for a couple of hours & managed to only spend a fiver on a couple of soft drinks & crisps for me & daughter.

Am a bit red & sore today having sat in the garden BUT it was great to be in the sun & not huddled under the marquee thingy with all the other smokers !!

I bought a paper on the way home another £1.40 but think i earned it & was chuffed to read an article about how people who grow their own fruit & veg can save over £1000  on shopping. There are 5 of us who share the work & produce but that's still money saved, & free exercise (used to pay £30 a month to go to gym).

Shame there isnt a fresh fruit & veg section on ebay but I have been thinking that when we have a surplus I could stick a little honesty box style bench out the front of the house as with 2 schools at the end of the road there could be alot of passing trade...

Not spending a penny today as due to rain we're staying home & having a clear out.

Keep up the good work & enjoy your lovely fresh home :D

Right its been a few days so time for an update to get it all out my head lol!

Money wise things are great really - my sis is pregnant and wants to buy my car seat off me for £25.00 which is perfect as my new one costs £30 and i need to buy it in the next three weeks. I have been looking in Argos but open to suggestions if theres anywhere cheaper???
My son has a playmat as well she wants for £15.00 which is brill too yay! My son never lies on it now - in fact he never lies anywhere - just rolls over and over!
Think i mentioned this before but got £100 more in salary which is my payrise but as of next week my hours reduce to 4 days a week so may just cancel itself out again.
Also got a tax credit letter saying im entitled to £900 & something this month - seems rather high but it does include childcare costs so maybe its right?? When my wages change i will post a new soa
    Now for the non financials....
My son started nursery today, so i have been walking round the shops all day and have had a mad moments of panic thinking WHERE IS HE, WHERE HAVE I LEFT HIM!!! (Need to get the so set up to pay for that *mental note to self*)
Oh ok so there is one more bit of financial news but its not good haha but necessary! I spent £200 today on new clothes and stuff for work next week! Sounds like a lot but it didnt go on credit cards yay and as i was planning on putting 800 away towards loan will just reduce my overpayment slightly (!). Still as long as all the bills are paid and my surplus is quite high at the end of every month i dont mind. And it is necessary as i havent bought work clothes for nearly 18 months apart from maternity bits and bobs on ebay. Got 3 gorgeous Jane Norman tops and a bag (which came to 100!!) Got 2 more tops and trousers and new make up & toiletries & new perfume so Boots bill was £50. Had to get little en some new joggers too for nursery. Not too bad i dont think.
Have a hair appt booked for 2mora which a friend recommended me to a girl who does cut n colour for 35 quid - better than my usual £100
Also gotta get my nails done for work which my son *gave* me the cash to do this which is £25 (im guessing my b/f increased his pocket money as hes only 8 mths (son not b/f))!!!
And lastly this week is getting my eyebrows done which is about 6 quid - was gonna get a facial which was £45 to get rid of my *i have an 8 mth old baby* eyes but decided to leave it and get to sleep earlier instead.
OK now for the bad news and im waiting for a slap of Lula but i smoked today. First packet of cigs i have bought though in over a month. Coughing like mad now but will not buy anymore i swear!!!!
Come on guys give me a telling off but not too harsh cos i will cry!!! Its an emotional old day today
    xx

Thanks Wendy - have got nearly 30 people watching all 7 items now and someones bid on something so thats 2 quid already lol!!
Check out my last post i spend 200 squid so i may be reducing that 1.5 k to 1.3 k - still its better than nowt eh?
    Hope your ok xxxx

Lmao I just realised my sign off bit is wrong i owe 21700 not 22700 - so i can officially say i have saved 1000 pound today - not haha!!! Will change it later
  • lose £200 in one post and gain £1000 in another!

I know whats its like with clothes, never buy a thing then everything wears out or gets ruined at the same time. I usually dont spend much on clothes but have spent around £70 in the last couple of months out of my £200 a year budget which includes three kids eek!

    Xmas Saver!
re facial - have you got a college near to you, the one local to us, and they have a seperate salon, where all the students run, any treatment etc is supervised by the teacher, prices of a facial are around £5+, the one by us does day (full time students) and evenings (part time students), they do hair dressing, manicures, pedicures, nails, massage etc.
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
