Hi
My old mum has changed to broadband and her email has been set up to include the address where she lives. It doesn't give the town or flat number, but includes her full name and the apartment block. I'm wondering if this is a good idea? Am I just paranoid?
Cheers

Can she not create a new e-mail account, preferably not connected to the ISP? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Cheers for the speedy reply! I'm trying to re-set up her account as I had the lappie wiped and reloaded last week due to slowness, and still trying to work through the set up wizard! Thought if her address should be changed this would be the best time. I haven't seen anyone else's email with part of their snailmail address in it.0

As espresso says, simply don't use it. Get another email account.
People really shouldn't be using their ISP's email address as their main address anyway. Almost as bad as using their software."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hi andy,
mind naming and shaming the ISP which has much such a stupid move? That does sound very dangerous (although I'm sure you're mum isn't going to doing anything on the Internet which would encourage someone to come find her)?

ha ha, she might be over 80 but she doesn't let life pass her by!! :rotfl::rotfl:Seriously, she is VERY trusting and has been known to reply to the "you have won a million pounds ring this number" 'offers' (costing on one occasion £10 to find out she hadn't).
Actually she's with plusnet, but it was my brother who set it up for her so I don't know if it was him that chose the address.0 -
