Car Insurance No Claims Query

My wife and I used to have 2 cars each of which had insurance in our names with full no claims bonus on the policies. We my wife's car about 3 years ago and now need to buy a second car again. Is anyone aware of an insurer that will honour my wife's previous no claims bonus? Between us until today we have had no accidents or claims.

I would firstly try the last company that the car was insured with to see if they would reinstate it. If no luck with that, I would try a good broker as they would/should know of any companies that are prepared to accept it.

I know it is too late now, but if you had thought that you were going to get rid of one car for only a few years, you could have alternated who was insured, so the longest that the no-claims got unused was 12 months. A common misconception is that the registered keeper needs to be the one to insure the car. This is not true, but if you are not the registered keeper it does need to be disclosed to the insurance company.

You could move both to MoreThan (although this might involve cancelllation fees on the existing policy).

For a second car they will let you duplicate your no claims and if it's full no claims they will protect it for life.
You'll also get a £35 discount (£20 new business, pus £15 existing customer discount)

Call 0800 300285 quoting 2CAR3 (no referral benefit)

No connecion except I am a customer and saw this on pages 4 and 5 of my policy.
I found them cheapest this year and got my policy with them down to £150.

Thanmks both of you. I pulled out my bell direct policy and htey will match it nad give her a 5 years NCB :o
Their quote for a Y reg Nissan Micra in London FC was £360 which is high but given the circumstances I might not be able to get much better elsewhere so I may end up taking it. My own Escort was £320 FC inc protected NCB although it is older but a higher insurance group..... Why is car insurance so complicated

Wow - this is amazing. So Bell Direct quuoted me £362 inc 5 years bonus NCB for my wife. I then went to insurancesupermarket.com and ran their search assuming a 5year NCB. Swift came up cheapest at £214 but after calling them and explaining hte NCB it went up to £370. The next cheapest was Bell at £227!!! I called to complain and they lowered my telephone quote to match it! I can't believe it. :j  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The downside is that when we checked details they saw my wife moved to the UK in 1994 and that then added £40 to the quote. Even so, £267 is not expensieve considering she doesn't really have a NCB. I have bought it since even £267 is cheap on the insurancesupermarket.com site. The next prices after Bell were £257 and then it was more than £267.

Nonetheless I will write in to complain about this discrimination. My wife learnt to drive here and has never even driven abroad!
