Earnings or Income

Hi
Have just applied for a creit limit increase with egg, they have asked for my gross annual income. So I wondered if "Income" can include my partners money too:rolleyes:
Or am I just being silly.
Any help please

Be careful...it doesn't say gross household income does it?

I appreciate that ability to repay should be the consideration really but it would be your debt, not your partners, so the limit should be on your income...

Don't push the truth as they may ask for evidence (doubt it) and you don''t really want to be in that awkward position.

I would think it's just your income, as they're interested in the person who signed the credit agreements ability to repay.

It all depends upon how the question was worded.

If they asked for YOUR gross annual income then this is what you should give them.

Some Credit Cards do ask for household income, and in these cases you can total income from all the residents of house.

Remember that you may be able to increase YOUR annual income by adding anything extra that you may receive including Benefits, Interest earnt on savings, profit from selling stuff on eBay etc.

You just need to be able to justify the figure you gave them should they query it.

I'd be wary of including anything other than spouse/partner's income here Nick.

After all, with 3 adult children still living at home, one could possibly enter £150K+.

    Really !!

I would have thought that if they request "Household Income" then you have a justification for totalling all the funds being received by the household.

I've never had to justify any statement of income, I suspect they only check if they think there is something fishy going on.
