Help with a babies top

My sister bought both of my children new clothes for easter rather than eggs like everyone else did. This was fantastic as my daughter and son both grow so fast. At the time the top from next which she bought my daughter was too big so it sat in the wardrobe with tags on it til Sunday where it was washed and ironed before use yesterday. I put it on her, she looked great, came to take it off her for bathtime last night and all of her hair was caught and wrapped around the button on the back. I tried to untangle it but couldn't do all of it so had to cut her hair as she wasn't impressed with me fiddling. (she is only 10 months old but has hair halfway down her back) Now her hair was tied up in pigtails but she has what I call whispy bits which are always loose as not long enough to be tied back as yet.

Can anyone tell me whether I can take this top back? she has aroun 7 tops which have buttons on the back of the nexk, the others are mainly from Asda and tescos these never get caught it is only this one. I spoke to my mum last night and she said I should take it back and complain about it, but also that when they make tops like this they never expect a baby of 10 months old to have quite so much hair.

Please can anyone give me any advice?

I've had a few tops for my daughter that do this and others that don't, if it happens more often than not, don't buy that style.

The same thing happens to me with my necklace, i wouldn't take that back either

I'd just send a letter or email to Next customer services informing them of the problems your daughter had with the top. The fact that the item has been washed, worn, labels removed, isn't technically faulty, and was bought some time ago means they are unlikely to offer you any kind of refund, but they might offer you something as a goodwill gesture... and more importantly, it will enable them to look into the design of the top and ensure other babies don't suffer the same problems.

I think thats about the best you can expect, really. Good luck. :)

Thankyou for the replies, I popped into the local next, explained the situation she was lovely, she immediately offered me a refund which I accepted. She also said that in that store there had been 3 other tops exactly the same which had been taken back with a similar fault although they were for older children (most babies don't have that much hair was her comment!) She has also supplied all of the details of the top and given me the number for head office and told me to give them a ring and explain the situation as they may give me some kind of goodwill gesture as a way of saying sorry!

Really couldn't have asked for a better service, Well done Next it makes a refreshing change for something to be so easy.
