When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I have /will

Welcome, singlemum, and happy payday sophiesmum
Today I have ridden my bike to work - free exercise and now I feel great! Also as I work on client sites, I can claim back off my tax bill 20p a mile in my 2008/09 tax return for business bike miles, so £1.60 a day...
Also have checked internet banking (nothing) and updated the spreadsheet for a £1 I found in my pocket. Last night I spoke to our home insurance co about the double direct debit coming out from OH's account, and they are refunding £80.
Still to do - check for mystery shops, do a piggy click if there is one
Have a great day

well done SM on the Halifax card - that makes two more CC companies no longer making anything out of us!

Morning all,
I'm a bit grumpy from the rubbish journey to work (an hour and 3/4 to go 20 miles  - bl**dy trains) so am trying to resist the urge to spend money to make myself feel better.
Today I have / will:- brought sandwiches for lunch
- post homemade wedding invites
- have a NSD (i think)
- check online banking
- start to work out how i'm going to use any spare cash from payday tomorrow
- think of things to ebay. I'm new to ebaying, but hopefully can declutter and make some money
- look at what the current DFW challenges are and poss join one.

I am feeling like time is standing still! In the beginning each week went so fast, it seemed like I had only just finished updating the spreadsheet and then it was time to do it again, but now its dragging!!!!!! I dont think its helped by my spreadsheet, something isnt adding up somewhere but I cant find where. I should be paying off circa £84 pw, more on each 1st of month, but some weeks its working out to £50. Think I might re-do it _pale_ Sigh.....
Anyway..... I have:
Checked ebay sales.
Printed off packing slips.
Checked net banking - all ok.
And I will:
[strike] Pack & post 5 ebay parcels.[/strike]
[strike] Do piggy click and comps.[/strike]
List some more ebay items - need to focus, I have lost momentum there
[strike] Check Paypal balance.[/strike]
[STRIKE] Bank a cheque.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] Meals from storecupboard.[/STRIKE] - Kind of managed this, everyone else ate from storecupboard but I bought some mince and veg for me
Have crossed out the ones already done

I paid off my catalogue debts
In September I owed £800 on various debts, and now it's nothing. Doesn't seem like a lot but I was out of work for 6 months and I'm a student. Feels great
