Npower? Why Are They So Bad?
Comments
-
I agree with Salopman. Npower is easily the worst company I have ever done business with (which is saying something!). They are, moreover, the only company I have ever taken to the regulator. Interestingly, someone at Energywatch intimated to me that they do have an abnormal number of complaints about Npower, so the bad press it receives is probably well justified.0

I have heard this too - not sure if it was mentioned on watchdog also?
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

Check out the thread on Gas sculpting!
Ignore the comparison sites if it tells you NPower would be the cheapest. The contract states you only pay the higher rate for the first 4572 kWh but having checked our bills we find that is not the case at all. In the last year they have charged me for 6,400 at the higher rate, which I am disputing. Also watch for your Dual Discount, you have to chase them for that as well! On a good note, they do have lovely staff at Customer Services!0 -

They have charged the higher rate on 6609 kWh on my four bills received since switching to them a year ago, with 854 charged at 4.412p and 1695 at 5.193p kWh on my latest bill !0

I hate them with a passion.
They sent a salesperson round who i let into my house. He sold me a cheaper rate of electricity which of course i took.
Weeks go by and i get a letter welcoming me to Npower.
Then i get a letter saying that they can't give me that cheaper package due to the type of meter i have (the salesman was here - why was that not checked??).
So i complain and tell them to ram it cos SSE is still cheaper and i don't like liars (which is what the salesman was full of).
I call them to make sure of who my next bill will be coming from. They tell me that i will never get one from them due to the short time of the switch over. I even get a written letter confirming this!
This morning i get a flippin bill for... wait for it... £690!!!!!!
So i call them up and go a little ballistic. Was told that they cannot discuss this bill with me cos the account is in my wifes name (which it is). So they will let someone else CANCEL YOUR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY but not discuss the bill - clever!
SO i get the wife to call them and she is told that the bill should never have been sent (oh really??) and it will be nullified and we should forget about it. This will be confirmed in writing.
My problem is that i'm stressed out about it and i don't trust that the bill will go away. Why should i? They haven't got anything else right so far!
I have visions of red letters and being put on a bad credit list for the first time in my life due to these incompetant muppets!
Shower of useless morons!Save more money, buy more beer! :beer:0
