Insuring A Bmw

What would be the best insurance company to approach for a 40 year old man buying his first car. It's a BMW two seater, 4 years old 21,000 miles on the clock worth £15,000. Has driven company cars and ex-wife's car. 15 year clean driving licence.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've just searched https://www.ask.co.uk for 'car insurance for ex company car drivers' and it returned dozens of hits.
Alternatively, you're simply going to have to get the Yellow Pages out and ring round.
Several things to consider...
1. It's going to be (relatively) expensive, but then again I suspect you know that.
2. I don't think being a named driver on your ex-wife's policy is going to help at all.
3. If your company car was 'your own', ie not a pool car, approach the insurers and your company for statements of accident free driving to support your quote gathering.
4. Try the company car insurers direct - they should have your details on their files.
5. When ringing round, make it plain from the outset that you have no-no claims in your own right. This should save 10 minutes of wasted time while they're completing forms only to be told at the end they'll give you a lowly 10% introductory discount.
6. Try a broker like Swinton who search a wide range of insurers. You can then ask who the cheapest quotes are with and contact them directly. This way, you should get a list of those companies "willing" to give some discount for driving the company car.

Hi,
Dont bother with the Net on this one. The web doesnot give you any discount if you have been a company car driver. Normally they will offer a discount if you ring, as long as you have a letter from your employer saying you had x amount of claim free years.
I would be trying Adrain Flux and Lancaster, but I would be a little nervious insurancing a £15k car with them. I have used Lancaster for a classic, and had no problems with them and they saved me a forture (company car mess up again), but I didnot need to claim. I would do some research on the net before comitting and remember the cheapest is not always the best.
I would also be tempted to try local brokers as well.
Good Luck....
Best Regards
