Set Reminders in Outlook 2003

I run Vista with Outlook 2003 for my work emails
When I create a reminder or flagon an email and set a date for follow up the email goes into my follow up file.
Is there a way of the email showing back into my inbox when I need to chase it.
I am setting the flag with time date for reminder but dont seem to get any reminder or sund alert

Beneath the start time/end time there is a check box for a Reminder in x number of minutes - is this ticked?0
