I have just bought a Ipod, not that I know anything about how they work  but I do know you can transfer music from CD's and download from the web.
I would be very interested in peoples' view as to the best download sites, I don't have personal knowledge of any, although I have heard of some i.e Napster.
I will probably use it a lot to 'fill it up' but fairly irregularly afer that.
Any thoughts as to price (lifetime and/or per track) quality, ease of use etc. greatfully received
Cheers, David

we're not supposed to mention the above (shhh) because there is speculation about whether they're legal or not in the uk (based in russia I think where copyright laws different).
Otherwise: i use napster, if you haven't used it before you should be able to get a free trial of the full service (ie being able to listen to tracks fully before download and such). I just noticed my poptarts box ahs a free napster download on it!
Tesco prices aren't bad, but really, these sites aren't competitive enough in the uk and don't vary that much.
Another good one I just thought of is emusic.com (legal), a u.s site but available here. You can get a free trial I think for 50 free tracks, then after that you pay (i think) $10 for 50 downloads a month. Its not a bad selection, although more indie stuff although it is getting better. This might be a good place to start (just don't forget to cancel after you get your 50 tracks).0 -
