Download all Private Messages as text or what?

Hi... technophobe here! 
I'm almost up to my storage limit of private messages (and want to save the ones I have as they contain lots of useful info). I noticed there is a link saying 'Download all Private Messages as XML CSV or Text' just under my inbox. Does this mean I can download them and save them to my own hard drive and then delete them from my inbox? If so, should I download them as XML?CDV (whatever they are) or text? Any tips or hints for doing this would be much appreciated. :beer:

Text would probably be your best bet.0

Text is good, dump them into your WP and edit down to some legible form and print.0

You can also have the full pm sent to your email then you can just delete the ones in your inbox.0
