I have been quoted about £400 for someone to line my chimney. Is this a good deal if not how much would I be looking at to DIY??? If i do it myself how hard a job is it??

I think it depends on what lining. We had stainless steel lining and it was about £600 but this was for a log burner0

We were quoted £700 and £800 for two chimneys in our 1930's semi. I would say £400 was cheap - given the difficulties of getting onto the roof and the dangers of falling. How much would it cost you to spend a month or more in hospital.0

Id snap theire hand off, a workmate did his not long ago, took 2 of them a morning to do. Not sure on materials costs etc, but unless your used to getting up on roofs...and have the ladders etc.0

there are some jobs where it makes a whole lot of sense to let the pros do it.
