Tax and NI taken wrong?? - please advise

I'd really appreciate some advice please.
I get paid weekly approx. £109 and I'm on tax code 543L for 2008/9 (previously 522L)
I've been working there several months, and normally I pay very little tax or NI.
However last week my employer paid me for unused holidays £282 - so that the total income for my weekly payslip = £391.
The tax taken was £43 and NI taken was £31.48
Is that correct?
Those amounts seem to be based on me earning £391 EVERY week! But I don't!
If its wrong - what should i do??
Thanks so much

This is correct
NI is calculated on your earnings for that week
So is your tax (presuming that you are on a cummulative code)
The difference being that your tax will readjust every week as per your earnings and allowence (you will find you hardly pay tax at all or even get a rebate in your subsequent £109 gross pay packets)
The NI is paid and thats that.

Takes a whilst to get it right, especially if you earn more and less as the weeks go on.
Expect a rebate at the end of the year..

This is not correct advise. Please see post #2, any tax rebate will come back to the OP weekly (providing no week one code has been applied which it should have being we are in a new tax year) and not at the end of the year.
As also explained this applies to tax only and not NI.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0
