When I try to open an attachment in my Emails I get the following message & I am not sure what to do.
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel"

Can someone please help me? I am using Vista.

Thanks

This usually occurs when someone sends you a file that was created by an application that isn't installed on your PC.

Do you know what the sender is trying to send you? What is the file extension?

More information required here, what is the file extension of the file that you are trying to open? IE .doc or .xls or .jpg ????

It's a .pps file. I installed Microsoft Works, so I presume that it would open this file?

    It's probably a PowerPoint slideshow.

Have a look on the MS website - I'm fairly sure you can download a slideshow viewer for free.

I saved the file & opened it after I opened PP. It works.

    Thanks for the help.

Works and Word are different, but you can download the Word Viewer here that will allow you to open them
