When I try to open an attachment in my Emails I get the following message & I am not sure what to do.
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel"
Can someone please help me? I am using Vista.
Thanks

This usually occurs when someone sends you a file that was created by an application that isn't installed on your PC.
Do you know what the sender is trying to send you? What is the file extension?0 -
More information required here, what is the file extension of the file that you are trying to open? IE .doc or .xls or .jpg ????0

It's a .pps file. I installed Microsoft Works, so I presume that it would open this file?0
-
It's probably a PowerPoint slideshow.
Have a look on the MS website - I'm fairly sure you can download a slideshow viewer for free.0 -
I saved the file & opened it after I opened PP. It works.
Thanks for the help.

Works and Word are different, but you can download the Word Viewer here that will allow you to open them0 -
