One flabby mother!

Well my 2nd child is nearly 8 months old now and I seemed to have put on 4 stone rather than lose it:mad:

Anyway I will get to the point and ask what people think is the best exercise machine out there.
Im doing slimming world but find no time to tone up, I need the obvious bum, tum, arms and legs.

I was thinking a rowing machine would do the trick for me??

What are anyone elses thoughts on the best machine out there???

Many thanks for reading.

I second the walking (even try carrying a bottle of water in each hand and swing your arms as you walk, great for firming up your arms) but if you really want an exercise machine get one that will be easy for you and something you won't get bored of. What about an exercise bike? Have a look on freecycle too.

Also look after you skin, drink plenty of water and use a good body moisturiser. I got Nivea Q10 firming body lotion from Tesco for 1.80, its fab! and really helps tighten your skin.

Brisk walking for at least for half an hour a few times a week, obviously with healthy eating. If you do want a machine, I would say a cross trainer, it's not hard on your joints. My husband has lost a stone and a half in a few months by using this machine regularly and he still enjoys a drink or two;).

  • Walking is enough exercise for now. Swimming if you can fit it in. When you become a bit fitter you could try jogging a few times a week. But you have to work up to it. Walking a bit, jog a bit . I have a book called Run for life by Sam Murphy which will get you running in 7 weeks. Try walking first see how you go.

I'm really tempted to get something like this because I usually lose interest in static machines very quickly. I used something like this once, many years ago, and still remember being so impressed at how the time flew by, I didn't even realise I was exercising! (Couldn't walk for the next three days, but that's beside the point:rotfl: ).

Otherwise, I'd be going for a dance mat or interactive wii games (some of them are really good for dancing and prancing about like an idiot:o ).

Walking is a great base exercise though - you can always increase your time and your speed and vary your terrain.

    Best of luck.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

  • the cross trainer whittles your waist as well. I use it at the gym and I walk everywhere if I can and I also got a bike a few years ago from KAys catalogue for £80 - and I use that when the weather gets warmer and go down the canal path to the next town and back. Good for keeping cool and good for the legs and bum.:j
