Didn't know that about Slater Hogg moving so thanks for that, will definitely try and find out :)

To be honest..i didnt even realise it was initially only a 1 bedroom :embarasse
We have been looking around and have seen another couple we were interested in..camphill ave which is a converted townhouse FP £140K 2/3 bedrm and another which was a 2 bdrm on walton st FP £145K - we just got such a feeling for the one on Kilmarnock Road and could see so much potential - we had a parent come with us again and their opinion was that it was overpriced. mmmm

Loads of flats in Shawlands have been coverted from 1 bed to 2 bed which means you lose the traditionally enormous dining kitchen. If you have a look at some of the specs for 1 bed flats you'll see them. Any traditional flat with an internal or open plan kitchen will have been converted. It depends what you want though - I prefer my huge kitchen while others would prefer a spare bedroom.

You also have to work out whether you're willing to take the hit if prices do go down significantly. My flat is 'worth' £135,000 on paper, but I genuinely think it'll go down to closer to £90,000 (2003 price) within the next couple of years. Prices in Shawlands have become completely ridiculous in recent times :(

None of which is much use to you though - sorry! I do understand why you've got such a good feeling for the Kilmarnock Road flat but really dont' think it can be worth more than a townhouse in Camphill Drive, unless it is tiny - it is far far quieter down there.

Good luck in whatever you decide - just dont' get ripped off.

Meant to say - have you installed propertybee?

    Makes interesting reading.

Has come down from a fixed price of £162,500 to £150,000 and is the size of a 'traditional' 2 bed flat, ie hasn't been converted into one.

    Thank Beecher - much appreciated.

I stay in a tenement just now on Albert Avenue and we have a huge living room and kitchen. Infact the flat next door to us has been on the market forever!!..You've probably seen it, number 69 ground floor. (we have also viewed it)

The flat on Camphill Ave must has been converted and does have an open plan lounge/kitchen but is still MASSIVE - the living room is nearly 25ft and the kitchen nearly 10 so open plan your talking 35ft and the windows are amazing. I know we need to have a good think, as I said there's just something about Kilmarnock Road.

I can well understand that, and sorry if I've appeared to be really negative. You do just 'know' when you've found the flat you want, and that one definitely is a cracker. I'd love it and I bet that downstairs bit must be sooo quiet. So good luck whatever you decide :)

Didnt think you were being negative at all - thats what I was after, different points of view :)

Yea my partner already has crazy ideas in his head about a pool table going in there haha....we'll see.

That flat on Pollockshaws Road is a cracker, might be worth a viewing - thanks :)
