Yes i've seen the medical report, it's attached to the letter i got on Saturday which also includes the claim amount that the solicitor seems to think im entitled to (£200)

Heres a picture of the letter took on my mobile phone.

something not right about that letter..

'drop your notes down on the back' - not professional at all and not what you'd expect from a solicitor.

'contact your solicitors' - thought it came from your solicitors

Also you need to accept the medical report is correct, your solicitor then sends the medical report to the third party and they make the offer.

No, i agree it does'nt seem professional to me either.

The letter has come from my solicitor which is strange as i thought they maybe would advise me to reject the 1st offer - that's what ive heard you do in most cases.

I certainly won't be signing it quite yet.

It looks to me as if this letter may have been written in the absence of the solicitor handling the case (not unusual this time of year) and possibly by someone junior, hence the phrasing used.

I think the OP needs to contact the solicitors and discuss the offer with them. It does seem on the low side, even if the whiplash cleared up quickly. Without seeing what the report says though it is hard to judge. When I first had my accident, I thought I would be looking at about £500 for the pain I had for the first few days which I thought would subside swiftly. Obviously as I have ongoing problems, this has been increased but I still consider £1000 derisory.

My colleague disputed her medical report as it did not explain fully enough the difficulties her whiplash injury had caused her. The report was then changed to reflect what she had told the doctor and her offer increased. Mind you, she in fact had to query the whole report as the doctor put on the front page that she had attended the interview with her sister and a young male child who was named. She had in fact attended with her mother, no child in tow at all. There were also a couple of things in the report which clearly did not relate to her.

I'll try and tie this up now as i'm sure people are getting bored with this - i am to be honest!

Just finally, does everyone recommend i don't accept this 1st figure and if so is it likely that i shall incur any costs at all, i certainly don't want that.

Second question, is it likely to go to court or in other words whats the next likely step?

As you can tell, all this is new to me and i won't be able to speak to my Solicitor about this till Tuesday ( silly bank holidays!!)

Any final advice from anyone is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.
