White mosaic tiles - changed colour

A few weeks ago we had our kitchen redone. The last thing to go in were the white matt mosaic tiles. They were fine until our builder grouted them. They have since "changed" colour and look grubby, dirty and greyish in places. The manager from the shop where we bought the tiles says that it is the white grout that is making them look darker and he has also spoken to the people who make them and they insist that their tiles can't change colour. We have done a test board to see when they chang colour and it is def when the grout is applied. The grout is still white.
I really hope someone can help with some advice as this problem is really getting me down and making sooo unhappy. I have a brand new kitchen with tiles that look really yukky and dirty what can I do?

Hi Megasaver
We had a similar prob with our white bathroom tiles. We bought the 'manager's specials' from Toppstiles. When the tiler grouted them, a load of them had brown/grey stains suddenly appear on them. We had a 'chat' with the area manager who said that there was nothing wrong with the tiles and apparently even sent one for tests, however they agreed to replace the marked ones, refund us all our money and as I was not happy with having paid to have dodgy tiles on my new bathroom walls they signed a letter agreeing to pay for new tiles plus the cost of the work involved if any more marks appeared. My tiler said that the enamel was too thin and that bleeding from the buscuit underneath was coming through. Don't know how true this is but for Toppstiles to refund me the cost of the tiles and agree to pay future costs there must have been something wrong with them. On a separate piece of board fix a couple of tiles and grout them, then hold an unfixed tile next to them. If there has been a colour change you can show the tile shop the visable difference. Good luck.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0
