Pregnant Birthday Girl Gift Ideas ?

Hi everyone its my sisters birthday on friday and i am really stuck on present ideas.
She is 8 months pregnant and i would love to buy or do something really nice for her but im on a budget and thought i would ask for help on here as you always come up with great ideas.
So if you have any suggestions or someone has done anything really nice for you that wont break the bank that would be great.
I cant make her a cake as she is making me one as we share a birthday . Thanks

How about putting together a nice toiletries bag for her to take into hospital. Have a look in the £ shops or Home bargains for things to put in it.

I had my son 13 months ago and her are a few things I would have liked but didn't get, got a painting set, don't ask:eek:

A coupon book you can make with I OWE YOU's e.g.

A day of house work before the baby is due
A day of house work after the baby is born 2 - 3 week
A walk with the baby while you sleep
I will do your washing for a week
I will strip and make your bed ( trust me I wish I had the help )
I will hoover up when I come over
I will bring a meal for your freezer ( this is a fave I made a few cottage pies and meals which were a god send )
When I visit I will send you to bed and tidy your house
I will limit your visitors (if you wish )by calling them to say that you need to rest
Foot rub and toe nail paint
    Hand massage
I will remind you are doing great
A hug when you feel like your the worst mother on earth

or you could record a c.d or tape of relaxing music for labour
or a c.d or tape of music to distract her and to get her to move during labour? 80's music or music that you liked as kids Bro's or take that etc

You could get some nice travel sized smellies for her hospital bag?

a slightly un related item straws in the hospital bag ( very difficult to drink lying down!)
    hope it helps

I've got two beautiful sons and the best thing you could possibly buy your sister is lavender essential oil. You can use this in the bath after the birth and it helps with healing (just two or three drops per bath) - I think it's brilliant stuff!

I think a voucher book of things you could do to help out after the baby arrives is a fab idea too.

    thought of an other one!!
the gel pads that you sit on after birth !!!
oh bliss my son was 9lb 80z back to back following being induced:eek:

best get them after if she needs them ( its all coming back )

The hamper with treats sounds good and the eye lash tint would get my vote.:j

Speaking as someone who is 9 months pregnant don't get her anything to do with the baby or the birth. It's HER birthday!!!!

However saying that I think pampering stuff will go down well. Maybe pay for a haircut and beauty treatments. Also clothing vouchers for once the baby is born so she can get a new wardrobe.

If you want to give baby stuff throw her a shower or give them to her on a different day. ;)

I got baby stuff for Christmas. I cried. :o
  • i totally agree with katgoddess

as happy as she is to be pregnant your sister prob felt like i did - that you're not a person anymore just a baby oven lol

vouchers are great idea as well for afterwards

  • I put together a pampering kit for my best mates brithday when she was pregnant, put stuff in there like big bars of choc, pampering stuff like face mask, foot mask, books, health stuff like rennies and a little back massager....nothing to do with the baby as such but things that would make her pregnancy a little easier and more restful! It went down a storm she was well impressed that I had put so much thought into it.
