Organisation of Energy Price Increases
Just wondered why OFGEN or the goverment don't organise the utility companies so that they can only increase their prices at the same time.(ie 1st week Jan,1st week July) instead of the different companies leap froging each other throughout the year.It would then be easier for everybody to make a decision as to who would be the best company to go with bearing in mind their useage. The other thing is that the 'Cashback' that we the 'consumers' get when switching must be added onto our bills 'somewhere'.Just wondered if this would be possible or is it too simplistic!

I completely understand what you are saying but it would be like asking Tesco and Sainsburys to only alter prices on certain co-ordinated dates.
It probably doesn't fit too well with the "free" market.
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
