Abbey £20.00 overnight DC charges what do I do?

I overspent on my debit card with abbey to the tune of 41p, the night it happened i thought maybe i had overspent. Checked my account next morning (i dont bank online) realised this error and immediately redressed the balance, debit cards are supposed to wait 24hrs before funds are withdrawn, seems things have changed.

Now the cheeky !!!!!!!s are charging me £20 later this month for the trouble, i am furious I AM NOT PAYING £20 for 41p overnight which of these should i do?:mad:

1. open account elsewhere and close account?

2. just leave the account and ignore charges?

I want to avoid being blacklisted I have never ever had a credit card

OK here is what happened

Abbey wanted to charge me £100 for 48p debt which occured for one day.

I stuck by my guns 2hrs later in the bank the acc is now closed abbey can pick on another punter.

Abbey dude "I agree the charges are obscene but we don't see any of it"

Me "Who effin does Lewis Hamilton"

Packed shop problem soon resolved.

Recorded message on phone to HQ "Due to court case... charges... blah blah warning" LOL

Apologies to the twenty customers who witnessed the spetacle while waiting I hope you enjoyed it.
