Looking into getting the 32gb Ipod touch, retailing for about 295ish. Are they worth it? Are they any good? and are there any alternatives with the wireless connectivity on the market?
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you want one and can afford it, they are a terrific product, much better value than an iPod, especially if you have wifi, or live/work near public wifi hotspots.
Beautiful device, why not try them out in Apple stores, 3rd party resellers or John Lewis?0 -

If you want to use the wifi and browsing capabilities, then it's a much better value option than a regular iPod. If you want to listen to a lot of music or watch a lot of video and capacity is a concern, then an iPod classic is a much better value proposition.
I'm looking for a DAP to replace my much used and loved but rather elderly Rio Karma (20GB just doesn't work for me anymore) and there doesn't really seem to be an alternative to the Apple product line. I just need to decide whetehr or not 32GB will do me. If not, I suspect I'll have to buy a Classic. Unless anyone has other suggestions? There's love in this world for everyone. If you want a touch screen device, the Samsung YP-P2 is on Amazon for about £120 (8gb version). Far cheaper than the iPod.
It's drag and droppable, or you can use it as a media device in WMP etc... I prefer the former.
It supports all the usual formats, along with Ogg (for open source fans like myself). It also supports avi's. Well a trimmed avi's, Samsung like to call it an svi, but it's basically an avi, without the b-frames and resized to a set resolution.
I've got one. It's great. The screen is 1/2 an inch smaller than a Touch but that doesn't bother me too much. It plays music well, and videos are good to watch on it. And it only cost me £120, not £200. There's a 16gb version due soon too."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

I love my P2, not fussed that it doesn't have wi-fi as my phone does! Sounds great better than iPod touch without a doubt, customizable EQ, great 16:9 screen, bluetooth as well great feature.
The Bluewave updates have added many extra functions to the player from the original release, now we await the 4th Bluewave update! New features from the 1st 3 include games, calculator, new GUI's, and more.
I was considering a touch but 1 its overpriced and there are many better players out there than the iPods.Smoke-Free since 15/11/08

I have got an 8GB ipod touch and I really like it. I won mine which is why I've only got the 8GB (had to delete a lot of music as I had a 20GB previously!) but it is a lovely gadget. My Dad is after mine and is going to get a 32GB from America and swap it for mine so I can use it how it is supposed to be used (i.e. putting videos and pictures on it too!)
My one niggle is that there's no zoom function on the internet. Can make viewing and navigating on some pages difficult!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

My 8GB Touch definitely has a zoom function, touch the screen with thumb and index finger, pull the index finger towards the thumb to zoom out, move the fingers apart to zoom in.====0 -
Yes, but no high capacity (>30GB) ones unfortunately.I was considering a touch but 1 its overpriced and there are many better players out there than the iPods. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Well that's good to hear, I'll have to try it! Can you tell I've not had it long?! LOL! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

no problem. An even easier way to describe the zoom is pinch the screen to zoom out and the opposite gesture to zoom in. Short of my laptop the touch has to be the best small browsing device available. (I'm posting this message on my Touch).====0
