The only problem I have with dairy is that theres no substitute for cathedral city chees, and sometimes I just have to eat it. Also theres no real good substitute for milk chocolate. I'm training myself to like the dark stuff, but its just not the same.

I am missing cheese sooooooooooooooooo much!! Dont mind goats cheese but its not the same!

It's difficult at the beginning, but you quickly get used to it. I can't stand the smell of cheese now, and I used to love it.

Some things that you can do as 'swops':

    1. Mashed potato. I like to mix one third boiled pots (boiled in salted water) to two-thirds microwaved sweet potato (nuked in skins, then peeled off). Perhaps a little black pepper.
This makes a nice satisfying mash that goes with everything so you don't end up with margarine mash or olive oil mash (somehow never as nice as when you get it in restaurants). This is also really good if you are on GI diet and cuts down a lot on calories.

    2. Salad dressing. Make flavoured oils and balsamic vinegar your friends so that you don't miss the ceasar salad dressings. You can also put mayonnaise into dressings to make a thick and 'creamy' one.

    3. Dark chocolate. It's better for you than milk, and you don't need as much, so fewer calories.

    4. There are some pastry, cake and bread recipes that use oil instead of dairy. I always use oil in my bread machine instead of milk powder and everybody loves my bread.
