Advice on offers...

I've put my laptop on eBay, starting price at £29.99... I've also put it on FreeAds for £150 or reasonable offer!

Someone has just offered me £80 for it, but I'm not sure what to do. I've never been any good at the bartering game... any advice would be welcomed? :)

Mmm... it depends on how much you expect it to sell for. The bidding may go higher... you won't know without doing a bit of reseach on past sales.

It's not really the done thing to advertise on places other than ebay at the same time - I'm not going to go an about it but it does annoy people. And when I say it's not the done thing... I mean ebay will pull your listing if they realise.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Thanks... I didn't realise it wasn't the done thing, never advertised something somewhere else before. Not sure why it would annoy people, for a start I have no bids on eBay, so at the moment nobody would be affected if I sell it elsewhere.

The problem is if you sell it privately towards the end of the ebay auction timing and it is too late too pull the auction. Any winning bidder afetr that point will be able to leave you negative feedback and reprot you to ebay as a non performing seller.

Also, your start price of £29.99 is that a price you would be happy to accept or have you got a reserve on it?

I see what you mean, didn't really think about it to be honest... just want rid of the thing for a decent price! There's no reserve on it, but would be disappointed if I got the starting price... I have found the last few things I have had reserve prices on haven't sold, that's why I went for a higher starting price with no reserve. I might just take it off and sell it through FreeAds, it's less hassle...

You could stick it on BIN £150 with a best offer option

Yeah good idea, thanks... I don't tend to use this as I don't like the option myself when I buy. Have done it now though. :)
