I have just noticed (online) that the due dates on my Barclaycard have been brought forward i.e.
March 12th
April 10th
April 30th
I could easily have been caught out by this, anyone know what is going on?

Thanks Clapton, I have corrected the dates.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. looking back at old statements seems to show that the bill date has remained approx the same (about 26/27th) but the pay by date has moved from about 28th to the 17/18th thus reducung the amount of time to pay by about 10/11 days. (this change occurred in Jan).
this seems about consistent with yoursEU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%

Thanks, they must be desperate for the cash with the credit crunch.
Sorry I have not thanked you but my Thanks button does not work.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. My March payment date was due by the 25th last month and April is now wanted by the 22nd so they have reduced it yet again.
I have just looked back at 2007 statements and my March payment was due by the 3rd April and the April one due by the 2nd May, so there has been quite a change in the last year in collecting payments earlier.
I am starting to get a bit hacked off with Barclaycard messing around with it so much, especially because I pay it all off every month. And despite not paying charges or interest and therefore being told on here I shouldn't be moaning, I can't for one minute believe that Barclaycard are not making good money in financial markets and profit out of the £1200 I pay them every month along with all the others who do likewise, compared to the £26 minimum I could be sending each month, so I feel justified in being a bit annoyed about this mucking around with dates of late to catch me out.

This has happened to me too! Jan, Feb and March were all around the 13th of the month. My March statement arrived and the date was the 4th of the month - very nearly caught me out. Now my April statement has arrived today and the date is now the 1st. Not great as I like to have received my monthly salary (end of month) before making the payment.
This has happened to me on a couple of occasions last year. None of my other cards (or my wifes) have such a variation in dates, one or two days maybe.
I'm going to call them tomorrow to see what they say. I feel it is unacceptable and if it cannot be sorted out I will be closing my account with them.0 -
I've just googled this and came across an article in 2006 about how Barclaycard sometimes bring forward payment dates for those who pay in full each month... Here's the link.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/moneybox/4681228.stm
I think that rather than close my account, I'll pay off in full this month then just use another of my cards instead of the Barclaycard. They then won't get the % which the retailers/merchants have to pay them!0 -
I nearly got caught out on this too. Just noticed my bill needs to be paid in 2 days time rather than 2 weeks time. Its a bit awkward as my payment date is now 3 days before i get paid.
Tried to phone Barclaycard to see if they can move my bill date backwards and shock of shocks, their systems are down. There isnt an automated message telling you this, someone on the call centre answers the phone to tell you. Now who's wasting money!!!0 -

They get worse don't they?
I receive 2% cashback on petrol and Supermarket and pay off my account in full, so I can't really complain, but I am not happy that they didn't highlight the change of date eg by email. Then again we all know why they don't.
So it is Supermarket and petrol only from now on and keep an eye on the bill.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
