HELP WITH NO CLAIMS DISCOUNT PLEASE

I'm just renewing my car insurance with help (for the first time) from this site.

My current company has sent me a quote and tells me that I have 75% protected no claim discount. Can anyone tell me what this translates to in years please. I would ring the company up and ask myself but they shut at 8pm.

You haven't said who your insurer is. 75% could mean a variety of answers with different insurers. In addition as all insurers stop allocating additional discount after a certain number of years (sometimes as low as 4) the % discount is not a useful guide to how many years NCB you have. You need to dig out your documentation from previous years and tot it up, or phone them and ask.

Thanks for your advice. I rang my insurance company and it turns out that I have 8 years NCD.

It looks like that I could save about £200 on my insurance from using the advice on this site. So thank you very much to everyone. I wish I'd used it earlier.
