DVD/VCR recorder problem

I just upgraded my cable from analog to digital. My recorder that formerly worked fine now doesn't work and all I get on recordings is fuss. I can view previously recorded items without problems. All other functions of the TVs work fine also. The recorder was made by Insignia. Any idea as to what may be the problem? Thanks

If your upgrade is the same as mine, the upgrade to digital has probably severed your analogue channels. In other words your old cable box acted the same as an aerial. You could tune your channels 1 - 5 and the output of the cable box using the tv's and the vcr's tuners. By upgrading your box to digital those signals have changed and may not exist any more. There is an rf (aerial) signal from the cable box - you would have to retune your vcr. The best way to connect everything up is to use scarts. As far as I know unless you have an aerial you can only record what channel the cable box is on .
