Wanted - 2nd User PC under £40

Hi all

Well I am looking to put together a PC for my OH for the bedroom, unfortunatly unlike the PC's I build for my self looks is high up on the agenda so I am wondering if anyone has seen any bargins out there?

The plan is for the PC to run XP and ITunes so she can sync her IPOD, I am also planning to put MedaPortal on it to use as a hifi with remote.

Anyway what it must have is:

A small Black or Black and Silver Desktop or SFF tower.
Minimum of 1.4Ghz Processor
Minimum of 256MB Ram but be able to take up to 512MB

That is it really anything else I will upgrade to what I require, the budget is £40, I have seen some Compaq Evo's on the 'bay for about £50 so I know it would be possible.

I am based in Stockport so anything nearby would be even better.

Hi There.

For a start, you really want 1 GB of RAM for a 1.4. Without it you might as well stick to something like a 700-900 MHZ for 512MB. Anything over 900 MHZ needs 1 GB or theres no point with the extra processor power. Second hand buisness P.Cs on ebay are the best idea. Maybe bulk buy 3-4 and sell the rest off if you really want to get to that budget.
