  • thats odd? It sounds like they DID pay through paypal but its been refused or reversed? Have you checked your paypal account? it will show on there. I wouldnt expect it to say YOUR payment has been refunded? as its THEIR payment that has been refunded back to them surely?

that's what is known as a mutual... fingers crossed they choose the right option so you get your fees back! the other option means you don't get your fees back.
  • they better had or i will be leaving negative feedback last time im going to sell on ebay its getting really bad and these people spoil it for the good ebayers

Doing a mutual is a big mistake, firstly they get no strike so can just continue to do this to other sellers. If people were patient and waited for day 7 to start the NPB then these rogue buyers would get strikes and would end up suspended..just think, your buyers might have done this before but without strikes they are free to do it to you and to others.

The second bigger problem with mutuals is that the buyer has a choice of options and unless they choose the exact right one they can stop you getting your FVFs back and then you'll be out of pocket for both your listing fees and FVFs, is that worth the gamble?

If you want to sell things instantly then ebay is probably not the best place, ideally you want a car boot sale or an ad in the local papers where you can exchange cash with the first person who walks through the door. If you use ebay then you must allow buyers 7 days to pay, even when they say they will not pay. On day 7 you can open the dispute and in the comments box just say that item will no longer be available to buyer. Then even if they do try and pay you can just refund the money and close the dispute, get your FVFs back and give them a strike. You also have the benefit that if they do not respond to the dispute you can leave them feedback without them being able to leave any in return.

In future sellers will not be able to leave neutral or negative feedback (this starts sometime in May), NPB strikes are the only way to protect sellers against rogue buyers so if sellers won't use them these buyers can walk away scot free.
