HPI Check - any good deals

Looking at buying a second-hand car privately and will naturally get an HPI check done on it.

I know that you can sometimes get special deals (e.g., £5 off) through various organisations or special offers.

Anybody know of any special deals going at the moment on HPI checks?

If you have a local garage, that does your repairs/servicing, if they have a car trader/dealer, that would do one for you.

It'd cost him between £10 - £20 to do.

You WON'T have protection that HPI give HIM, should the information be incorrect, but at least youy'll have some history clarified.

Then it'd be up to you how to proceed.

It is not everyday you get something for free. But RACs website will tell you...
make and model.
how many previous owners.
last owner change.
when it was made.
what colour it should be.
Basically stuff you can get off the log book (V5C) but it should match! Look out for high amounts of owners as its always a bad sign.

This web site plays up a bit, but keep trying it as it does work! There is no point wasting money on a paid for HPi until you have got a nice possetive from this one...
