5 port usb hub 2

I wonder if anyone can help, yesterday I installed a 5 port usb2 hub, now I find that only my usb fan will work when plugged into it, when I checked my other things, printer, scanner, webcam and mike are all usb1, can anyone tell me if usb1 things will work in the usb2 hub, thanks in advance..Joy

USB 1 device will work in USB 2 ports, however somtimes they need more power than a hub can supply. Is it a powered hub or not? If it's not you may have problems, try plugging the devices that don't work into a port on the PC instead and see if they work. If they do and you have an unpowered hub you need a powered one.It's my problem, it's my problem

Thanks for your reply, the hub I have installed is an internal one, a pci card with 4 usb ports that is visible on the outside of the computer and one on the inside, my usb desktop fan will work in all four of the new ports but none of the other things like my printer, scanner, webcam and desktop mike will work, all these thing work in the usb ports that was there originally....regards Joy0
