I've been given a supa sprouta and finally have got the family to eat them. Any advice pls as to types to go for and how to use them would be much appreciated. Also now that i know they're going to be eaten, where can I buy organic in bulk pls? The packets from garden centres etc don't last 5 mins and are very expensive. Thanks for help.:D

I used to buy mung beans from supermarket & use them to sprout
Maybe you could try same with other types of seed?Numerus non sum0 -
aduki beans are good too and you can get big bags from the health food shops that last forever.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Do you eat these beans when they have just a little sprout? Not like the bean sprouts you can buy in supermarket, or should they grow that long?0

I've just bought a bag of mung bean from Mr Tesco and will be starting sprouting too.
Just need to work out what i have at home
which will work as a sprouter.
I have found out that for the thicker sprouts you should grow for longer and apply a little weight to the beans (have no idea how yet!)
I'll trial and error these little chaps and then get more daring if they do well.
Good luck :jNO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS

I grew them longer, like the ones you buy. Just need to rinse the bean husks off, but will not kill you if you miss a few husks
I did rinse daily in tepid water to keep them fresh & growing, but grew mine in a large jar, not a purpose made sprouterNumerus non sum0 -
Put the little fellas in an unused Coffee pot. They were perfect, grew about half inch long in 5 days.
They went into my salad and sandwiches this week. Made a nice change and very tasty.
Good luck everyoneNO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS
