I started 3 A Level (Double ICT and Media) last September and finding the courses very hard. Not so much media, but double ICT. I work every night and still find myself falling behind. I leave Media to complete ICT and as a result, very behind on Media.
I have been told to get the Applied ICT book and CD to help me, so I'm going to look around for that now. I really want to make University.
Am I the only one finding A levels very hard?. I work so hard and feel like I'm always behind. I'm expected BBB at A Level and would love to get those grades.

Hi,
I'm at university now so it was 2 years ago when I was doing my A levels. I do remember well the jump between GCSE and A levels. It really floored me and seemed to tire everybody out. I also remember A levels being quite different to what I had come to expect at GCSE. I guess you are also struggling as it is double IT, which probably makes the one IT task seem bigger than say an English and a biology task (for the same reward). I think with A levels though, that if you work hard and pay attention to the advice of your teachers then you can achieve good grades. Good luck with what you are doing. I assume it's not that hard that you are thinking of changing subject. Good luck too with whatever you want to study at university. Have you started looking at courses yet? I would suggest doing that soon if not. University is a brilliant experience and if you get in it will be worth the hard work.0 -
It was 8 years ago I did my A-Levels.
I did minimal revision for GCSE's, effectively nothing and passed them all. A-Levels were just something else!! The jump up was amazing especially with maths. It was so difficult. But with work and sheer determination I made it. You will make it mate, don't worry.
Just hold on in there for university, they were the best 3 years of my life. Best thing I ever did."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

If you're finding A levels this hard then you might seriously need to revise going to university. You're only doing 3 and (here I get shouted at!) not the most academic subjects and you seem to be struggling. You may be better to go straight into employment and undertake some more vocational training such as HNC. You'll be financially better off and get a head start on your career. University isn't for everyone and you may be heading for 3 years of struggle, large debts and for little reward. Consider all your options carefully.0
