for kaupthing edge account, electronic payment?

hi there,

I want to get a kaupthing edge account and it says that you can get one if your current bank account can send and receive electronic payments, does anyone know if a Barcalys current account can? Also, I'm thinking of changing to Alliance and Leicester, do you know if they can send and receive electronic payments?

You can certainly transfer money into and out of a Barclays current account via BACS. I'd imagine you can do so with most bank accounts.

All current accounts can send money in and out by BACS (which is what Kaupthing Edge want). In addition, most online instant access savings accounts can too. I have linked my Kaupthing Edge account to my current account (with Nationwide) but I have transferred money in from my Egg savings - which is where I keep money for bills, etc, which aren't paid by direct debit. I imagine that I could have linked my Egg Savings instead, but some banks use direct debits for transferring out (at least ICICI does). The A&L current account won't be a problem for Kaupthing but if you want to link to a savings account make sure it has a sort code and account number and then BACS will work.
