help with gas supplier

I have just found out that i havent been paying any gas for over 3 years at my business premises.
when i moved i i sent all the readings and forms to set up direct debit
i thought i was paying them
they have just contacted me to tell me that i have never paid anything.

i have never had a bill from them as i have found out through my accountant.
they want to charge me for the last 3 years gas

where do i stand
surely they are to blame a s i have only just been contacted and never had a bill
please help....... i cant afford to pay all that at once
does anyone have any advise for me?

Hi cm....residential customers, as long as no invoice has been issued are only liable for one years usage.
However business terms and conditions may be different.
