can anyone recommend a broker

Hi please help as i dont know where to start!!
I have no idea where to start in finding a broker.
My partner and i both have bad credit pasts we have a couple of defaults and ccjs all for small amounts and sattisfied now.
We need a mortgage of 4.5x our income although if they will take into consideration a second job that i have been doing for a month this would be less than 4x our income.
we do have about £40,000 minimum to put down from our current house.
i read on here that charcol are good mortgage brokers for credit probs but they only seem to lend 3x your income.
can anyone reccomend a broker that may be able to help with the above.
many thanks xx

Also depends on whether you want a face to face broker, or if you are happy to deal over the internet/phone/mail

its actually quicker to deal over the phone and suits a lot of people who work better - it also helps the broker as they get your undivided attention and vice versa - you'd be suprised how many distractions we get on client visits. I keep a bag of sweets and colouring pads in my office for my clients children! (don't tell anyone but sometimes I colour in them too)
