I was wondering how long it takes to build a good enough credit rating to be eligible for the 0% deals?

Depends on the state of your credit file. If you've made a lot of applications and pooched your score that way, it'll take a year of not applying for much (if anything) plus careful conduct on any accounts you have to build up a better rating, 2 years is about my guess for what you want. If you've had defaults or missed payments before though, you may have a trickier time of things.0
