Nintendo help

Both my daughters have a Nintendo DS Lite. On both, the hinges snapped (which I am now aware is a common problem). They have both muddled through with them so far (both consoles are now just over a year old).
Unfortunately one of my daughters has just dropped hers and the hinges have completely snapped BUT by some sort of miracle the console still works.
Would Nintendo repair these? If so, does anyone have any idea what the cost would be? Or is there a cheaper option?
I'd be most grateful for any help.

I tried, and Nintento say they won't repair cosmetic damage, which is all it is. Also, as the consoles are out of their warranty, you would have to pay for repairs. It may be cheaper to find a local person to do it for you - I've always find both Game and Gamestation useful for advise of this.Sealed Pot Challenge!
