replacing laptop battery

I need to replace a battery in Fujitsu Siemens laptop (Amilo A7640 model). Its 2 years old and has stopped charging up, so its reached the end of its life. Should I be replacing it with exactly the same? or can I get a better one that holds a charge longer. The original battery never had a great amount of staying power - about 40mins tops. Any advice on good websites/companies to buy from would be much appreciated....

make sure you get a Li-ion or Lithium Gel battery. The number of cells relates to how much charge it can hold, so an 8 cell will last longer than a 6.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer
