Poor print exposing Pin numbers

The Pin numbers of millions of consumers are being put at risk by shoddy printing, warn security experts.

Bright lights and easy to use software helped University of Cambridge researchers defeat tamper-proofing on letters telling people their new Pin.

The researchers fear the security lapses could put consumers at risk as the UK adopts Chip and Pin technology.

The banking industry played down the risk and said little fraud was perpetrated by this method.

The reason I am posting this is about 4 months ago I was waiting for 2 cards to turn up but I got the PIN first!
I contacted the bank and credit card advising of such and a stop was put on the cards and acocunts and new accounts were set-up and issued.

Luckily nobody had used the account(s) while I was waiting but it just shows how easy criminals in the know could do so.

    My recent M&S More&More card arrived and the PIN number was unreadable, I asked for another to be sent which was readable.
