Additional Car on Policy - Urgent thoughts please!!

I am just about to buy another car before selling my existing one and want to pick it up today and drive it from the seller's back to my house (about 40miles) and need to know about insurance cover.

As I can't get through to my insurance company to confirm the position does anyone know what I should do? Would I be covered under the seller's insurance (obv on a third party basis?). I have fully comp insurance on my existing car (which I am selling just as soon as I get this new car home).

Thanks

Not all fully comp policies offer DOC.

You can't use DOC once you own the car - once you've paid for it and picked it up it needs insurance in it's own right. Do an online quote, buy cover for the new car, and cancel once you've had the chance to sort out your 'permanent' cover. You'll have to pay for the days of cover you use on the 2nd car and there may be a cancellation charge, but that's the quickest way to do it.
