If you are using windows on both PC's you can set up printer sharing which will enable you to print from both to one printer.
You will need to have both PC's on at all times.
If you right click on your printer and select properties you will see a sharing tab. Select share this printer.
Then on your other PC you should be able to add a network printer.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
A handy piece of software for things like this is Network Magic handy for network setups and sharing over a net etc, there is a free version too and the paid for isnt too expensive.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

Your other solution is to connect the printer to the router via a mini print server.

is one example, there are others which all do much the same thing.
This would mean you don't have to have both computers on at all times. However it's more expensive, a little trickier to set up and you need to make sure it's compatible with your other set up.
One thing to check is that your router doesn't already have the capability to connect a USB printer to it - some do.
The bottom line is that if you will nearly always print from one computer, or don't really mind leaving one on all the time, then use Woo's solution which is free.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world
